Many people are not aware they are pre-diabetic. They usually don't find out until they go for a wellness exam and have their lab work completed which reveals their blood sugar levels are higher than normal. When you eat food, the food turns to glucose or "sugar" in your bloodstream. This sugar is to help fuel your cells and give you energy. The health of your cells and the hormone called insulin that helps your body use glucose effectively, may not be working properly. When this happens, you have more glucose in your blood system than what is healthy and it if is over a certain number, you will be diagnosed with Pre-Diabetes. Pre-Diabetes can be reversed with proper nutrition, exercise, and medications if recommended.
